Our K–2 students made their voices heard this week in the library as they voted for their favorite Sunshine State Jr. Book! 📚🗳️ Encouraging a love of reading while giving students the power of choice—future readers (and voters!) in the making!

Yesterday our kindergarteners took learning on the wild side with an unforgettable trip to Lion Country Safari! 🦁🌴 This real-world adventure brought Florida’s Kindergarten standards to life in meaningful and memorable ways: • Science (SC.K.L.14.3 & SC.K.L.14.2): Students observed animals in their naturalistic habitats, identifying basic needs like food, water, and shelter while comparing living vs. nonliving things. • Science (SC.K.N.1.5): Our young scientists practiced observation skills by noticing animal behaviors, movements, and features. • ELA (LAFS.K.SL.1.2 & LAFS.K.SL.1.1): Students engaged in conversations, asked and answered questions, and shared what they learned about different animals. • Social Studies (SS.K.A.1.1): The trip helped build understanding of the world around them by connecting classroom learning to real-life experiences. From spotting giraffes up close to watching lions lounge in the sun, our kindergarteners weren’t just on a field trip—they were exploring, questioning, and learning in action. Experiences like this help lay the foundation for curiosity that lasts a lifetime! 🐾

Ms. Porter’s students dove right into hands-on learning as they explored and investigated different measurement tools to kick off our new math unit! 📏

Our 2nd graders are exploring human body systems by designing and building their own models.

Today our kindergarten students participated in a fun and engaging gallery walk to showcase the inventions and toys they created! Inspired by The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, students explored how William used curiosity, perseverance, and creativity to build an invention that made a difference. Through Galimoto, they discovered how Kondi used imagination and simple materials to design his own toy—proving that innovation doesn’t require fancy tools, just big ideas! Our students truly brought these stories to life, demonstrating problem-solving, creativity, and pride in their work. The future is full of thinkers, builders, and innovators! 🚀

Our Drone Robotics Team earned their reward! 🚁🍕 Hard work, precision, and teamwork paid off with a well-deserved pizza party after their latest competition win.

Mrs. Polverari’s students brought creativity to life in the library Makerspace using Keva Planks! Students explored engineering and design by carefully stacking and balancing planks to build impressive structures

Students in Mrs. Zwemer’s class put their real-world skills to the test by using an EPCOT brochure and map-reading strategies to summarize the highlights of their field trip! 🌍✨

Second graders explored the excretory system through informational text, building their understanding of how the body works to stay healthy. They then took their learning on the move—rotating in small groups around the room to tackle comprehension questions, collaborate with peers, and support their answers with evidence from the text.

Today we celebrate the beauty of inclusion, kindness, and the unique strengths that make every child shine for World Down Syndrome Day! 💙💛 Our students remind us daily that differences are something to be celebrated, not just accepted. From friendships in the classroom to support on the playground, we are proud to be a school community where everyone belongs.

Mrs. Reed’s RTI group put their skills to the test with a fast-paced prefix scramble ⏱️✨ Students raced to match prefixes with their meanings before time ran out, all for a chance to win a prize 🎉💡 So much teamwork, focus, and fun!

Ms. Davidson's students compared and contrasted characters across two Native American stories, using specific details from the text to deepen their understanding. Through collaboration, they worked together to locate and discuss strong text evidence to support their responses—building both comprehension and teamwork skills along the way.

Future engineers at work! Students in Ms. Cade's class investigated material properties and put their skills to the test by designing and building towers. 🏗️

Mrs. Hatcher’s class is diving into The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, sharpening their thinking by annotating questions and tracking argument and evidence throughout the text. 📝📖 Students are digging deeper into the story—asking thoughtful questions, supporting their ideas with evidence, and building strong reading and writing skills along the way. The Headless Horseman has nothing on this kind of critical thinking!

Staff dug into meaningful data chats to map out next steps for student success—because good teaching is equal parts art and science. And in true St. Patrick’s Day spirit, they wrapped it up with a little friendly tomfoolery… a rock-paper-scissors battle royale that brought out everyone’s competitive edge 🍀 Planning with purpose and a dash of fun—just the way a strong school culture is built.

Ms. Napier’s class brought learning to life with Jamie O’Rourke and the Big Potato! Students sequenced the story using a flow map, then put their math skills to work by measuring ingredients to make Irish Potatoes. 🍀📚

Ms. Davidson’s 5th graders are diving into the study of Native Americans across mountains and prairies! Students are working collaboratively to analyze the relationships and interactions between Native American tribes and European settlers, using text evidence to support their thinking.

Patience isn’t just waiting—it’s how we show up while we wait. At All Pro Dads, we’re talking about how patience builds stronger relationships, better communication, and lasting impact with our kids. The lessons we model today are the habits they carry tomorrow.

A big thank you to our PTA for bringing the We Flip Acrobatic Science show to our school! 🤸‍♂️🔬 Students learned science concepts like Newton’s Second Law and saw them come to life through exciting acrobatic demonstrations—including a daring test from five stacked chairs!
